THEOLOGY
The vision of Green Hills Church is to journey with people toward God as we live out the teachings of Jesus Christ.
The sole basis of our belief is the Bible, uniquely God-inspired, without error in the original manuscripts, and the final authority in all matters on which it speaks. As the Bible teaches, there is one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons —Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each possessing all the attributes of Deity. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world.
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but
became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort.
Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. His shed blood on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation only occurs when a person places his faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for his sin.
Every follower of Jesus is called to pattern their life after His teaching and message. They are to live out the great commission that He left us, by maturing in their own faith and helping others follow after Christ by loving Him and making him known to a lost world. The Church is a corporate expression of disciples, committed to glorifying God and living out the message and mission of Jesus Christ until his second coming.

who we are

Green Hills Church begins as a sponsored ministry from a number of churches throughout Tennessee and other states.  Mike & Brad met in seminary, then worked together for the past 5 years before stepping out on this new adventure (scroll down for bios).
The rest of the team (not pictured) is made up of incredible volunteers and leaders.  This group of people have such a passion for God and what He is up to in Green Hills that they give up their time, energy, & even their finances in order to further the work of the Kingdom.
The way we look at it, it’s like a big mission trip.  Whatever it takes to make a difference in people’s lives is what it’s all about!
Brad Dunlap (Co-Pastor) was born in central Alabama and attended Samford University in Birmingham, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies.  After marrying his high school sweetheart, Katie, they made the move to Memphis, Tennessee where he earned a Master of Divinity degree in Biblical Studies from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.  Brad has been blessed to serve in the church in multiple positions including Small Groups Pastor at Highpoint Church in Memphis for the last 5 years.  When he is not working, Brad enjoys reading, jogging and spending time with Katie and their two boys, Riley and Cole!  Read more at www.braddunlap.wordpress.com.
Mike Harder (Co-Pastor) describes himself as “pretty much a normal guy who enjoys coffee, wake boarding, and several other sports.”  He grew up as a missionary kid in Bogotá, Colombia where his parents served for 28 years as church planters.  Mike attended Northwestern College, St. Paul, Minnesota and earned a B.A. in Christian Education before graduating from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee with a Master of Divinity degree in Biblical Studies.  Mike has served on various church staffs, including Highpoint Church in Memphis, before moving to Nashville.  He has been blessed with the opportunity to write Bible studies including, “In Transit: What Do You Do with Your Wait?” & “Jaded”.  He is happily married to Tabitha and enjoys long walks with the family dog!  Read more at www.mikeharderministries.com.
